AEOLIS organizes cultural activities, develops actions in the field of cultural tourism, organizes theatre and cinema shows, music events, cultural visits and excursions, workshops and conferences which aim at informing and sensitizing the citizens on Greek language and art, the natural environment and the global cultural heritage.

AEOLIS organizes every year (during the Easter and summer months) a complete cultural-educational programme on Greek language for non native speakers visitors of Lesvos.

The courses were intended for:

- Visitors of Lesvos

- Foreign students in Hellenic Studies Programmes in Universities abroad as well as foreign students of Universities in Greece.

- Professionals who work or wish to work with the Greek Language (interpreters/ translators, teachers of Ancient Greek, embassy officers, employees in enterprises, etc)

Greek Language Programme

Intensive Greek language courses specially designed in order to address the educational needs of non native students. The Programme of Studies is divided into seven classes, covering all levels. Special programmes are also offered, in order to address the need of professionals working with Greek: Greek Language Programmes for Interpreters and Translators, Greek Literature, “Katharevousa”, Legal Terminology, Financial Terminology, Three Month Perfection Programme, Preparation of Programme for the Certificate of Attainment in Greek.

Greek Culture Programme

Programme of additional educational activities for the students, with a cultural and intercultural content (conversation classes, lectures, audio visual presentation on History, the Arts and Society, Greek dances and singing lessons, Greek cookery classes, walks and excursions to places of unique beauty and cultural significance, etc.)

Aeolis' Activities

Aiolis cooperates with the local community in order to solve local problems towards a sustainable development. It initiates cooperation with Local Authorities, Cultural Associations, NGOs, enterprises that respect environment, Vocational Education Centres, Artists and intellectuals of Lesvos .

Aeolis is a member of the Networks Partnership of NGOs Greece, and Green Development. It coordinates the Cultural Tourism Network of Lesvos Island.
