The participation of organizations and persons from all over Lesvos in the Network’s meetings and working groups was more than what we ever expected, and above all this wide participation proved the local community’s need and wish for a cooperation towards the development of Cultural Tourism. We would like to thank all the participants for their warm response,
the local authorities who were more than generous by providing rooms for the Network’s meetings (the Prefecture of Lesvos, the Chamber of Lesvos, the Archeological Museum, etc), and the local media for their unconditional support.
The main participants of the Cultural Tourism Network are:
- Representatives from organizations such as Municipalities of Lesvos Island, The Chambers of Commerce, the University of the Aegean, the Region of North Aegean, the 11th and 14th Eforia Archaiotiton, the Metropolis of Mytilene, the Museum of Natural History, the Historical Archive of the Aegean “Ergani”, the Company of Aeolian Research, the KEKANAL Vocational Training Centre, and many others.
- Professionals’ Unions such as the Union of Tourist Guides, the Union of Tourist Agents of Lesvos, the Union of Hotel Owners, the Teachers’ Union, etc.
- Representatives from cultural and other local associations such as the Association of the Minor Asian Inhabitants of Skala Loutron “The Dolphin”, the Cultural Association of Yera, “Theofilos’s Home” “Stratis Mirivilis”, “Vafeios”, the Cultural Association of Ippios “Agios Prokopios”, the student’s dance association “Orfeas”, and many others.
- Businessmen, artists, teachers, archeologists, tourist guides, students and other interested persons.
