The meetings of the Network and the sessions of the working groups locate the island’s cultural aspects to be promoted, decide on the different ways and characteristics of this promotion and provide specific orientations to the Network. The first decision was the creation of a Contact Data Base, and afterwards the Network proceeded in recording the cultural resources and the cultural events in Lesvos. Since summer 2007 Aeolis has recorded on video several events, many of which are included in the DVD “Destination: Cultural Lesvos”, which is one of the main products of the Cultural Tourism Network. The DVD presents the main cultural aspects of the island, as well as videos from the Network’s meetings. Finally, the DVD presents the Greek Language and Culture Programme, organized by Aeolis in Skala Loutron every year, as an example of good practice in the field of Cultural Tourism. In the process of recording the cultural resources of Lesvos Island, three Guides for the Visitor of Lesvos have been published: Museums’ Guide, Monuments’ Guide (it includes archeological sites, mansions, fountains, traditional coffee houses, etc), Religious Monument’s Guide (big and small churches, monasteries).
